At Chiropractic Care Center of Beloit, S.C., we take great pride in providing the finest chiropractic wellness care to our patients. Below is a sampling of the different chiropractic services we offer in our Beloit office.
Chiropractic Care
We provide advanced spinal correction utilizing "state of the art" chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic have we been able to provide the level of help and expertise that now exists. These newer correction methods are even safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before. As a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Jerome Fagerstrom has years of training and experience in spinal adjustment.
Corrective Exercises
We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.
Pilates Studio Equipment
Imagine an exercise program that you look forward to, that engages you, and that leaves you refreshed and alert with a feeling of physical and mental well-being. The Pilates Method (pronounced puh-LAH-teez) of body conditioning will do all this...and more.
The Pilates Method is an exercise system focused on improving flexibility and strength for the total body without building bulk. Not surprisingly, some of the first people to use the Pilates Method were dancers such as Martha Graham and George Balanchine.
The Pilates Method is not just exercise, however. It is a series of controlled movements engaging your body and mind, performed on specifically designed exercise apparatus. The Pilates Method of body conditioning promotes physical harmony and balance for people of all ages and physical conditions while providing a refreshing and energizing workout.
The Pilates Method of body conditioning can also be integrated into rehabilitative exercise and physical therapy programs designed to speed recovery of soft tissue injuries.
Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound is a physical therapy treatment used for treating soft tissue injuries. Ultrasound uses in audible sound waves to penetrate deep into tissue to promote healing. These sound waves cause molecules to vibrate at a cellular level producing mechanical energy and heat. This deep heating of tissue promotes healing in structures like muscles, tendons, ligaments, joint capsules, etc.
The effects of ultrasound have been found beneficial in treating musculoskeletal injuries, and breaking down scar tissue. It has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects; therefore it can be used to treat pain and stiffness associated with arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. Here is a list of common conditions treated with Ultrasound:
Tendonitis • Muscle Spasms • Bursitis • Neuritis • Sprains • Frozen Shoulder
Decompression Therapy
Decompression Therapy is a highly successful treatment of herniated, degenerative, or bulging discs, sciatica, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Even if a patient has had surgery that has failed, Decompression Therapy is still effective. By gently stretching the vertebrae of the spine, a negative pressure is created within the disc.
This negative pressure allows any bulging disc material to be "sucked" back in to the normal confines of the disc space. A good visual is to think of a balloon being compressed between your hands the balloon bulges out, and when you release that pressure that balloon regains its normal shape. The negative pressure also allows nutrients to flow into the disc. This aids in healing a damaged or herniated disc.
Decompression Therapy usually consists of a series of sessions that last between 10-20 minutes, a few times a week. As you progress the time of each session may be increased, and the frequency of visits will decrease.
Laser Therapy
Laser Therapy is the use of near-infrared laser energy over injuries to reduce pain, inflammation, and to stimulate healing. It is safe, painless, and can be effective in the treatment of a wide variety of conditions.
The Apollo Portable Laser System is the embodiment of many years of international research and development. We have chosen the Apollo Laser because of its quality and effectiveness. This will produce the best possible clinical outcome for many conditions.
Lifestyle Advice
We often find it helpful to "coach" our patients on certain activities they should avoid or do differently to avoid aggravating their particular health challenge. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a fulfilling and happy lifestyle full of the activities they enjoy most. We recognize that each our patient is a whole person, and help them reach true health and wellness is a collaborate effort between our professionals and our patients.

We provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices to enhance our patient´s return to optimal health. Do you know which supplements and vitamins are good for you? Do you know how these supplements and vitamins interact with one another? Dr. Jerome Fagerstrom can provide a structured nutritional program based on your individual needs.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy offers a natural conservative treatment approach that relieves musculoskeletal pain for many patients. Our office provides specific massage and muscular therapy that is tailored to meet the patient's condition and injury. The benefits of massage therapy may include increasing blood circulation, reducing swelling, relaxing muscles, relieving muscle pain and spasms, and aid in recovery and range of motion.
